If you love your blog - that's more important than just making money while you zzzzzzz sleep! I am a newbie Blogger so it's important to me to be teaching you how to blog - while I am learning - how to blog.
One of the most important tips I can give you is - find your theme!
Research - as you will need a lot of good content.
Then use for example: Amazon - which comes free from Blogger - to find Affiliate Products to market on your blog. Adsense is also free on - Blogger!
Let's say you want to build your site around - Everything Babies - a site for Mom's. You would look in your Amazon browser and type in "babies" or "baby bottles" or "baby car seats" - you see what I mean - that's where you get free affiliate products to promote on your site.
Build your site first - I cannot stress that enough.
Love your site - and - others will too.

Should it turn into a serious business - well - still have fun.
Only market something you would buy yourself - tried and true.
One last tip - this is about saving money - which I also blog about - use your Avion Points for airflights - they are great. I also love the Shoppers Optimum Card - because of the Points - I can afford Jouviance my favourite face cream - it is like silk on your face.
